A very warm welcome to Halle Murphy! She is joining the lab as a M. Sc. candidate having completed her B.Sc in chemistry at Trent university in Peterborough, Ontario. She spent her final year of undergraduate studies researching in the inorganic materials chemistry lab under Professor Andrew Vreugdenhil, focusing on surface analysis of activated composites for use in electrode materials which is what sparked her interest in green energy storage and electrochemical devices.

In the lab, she is joining the synthetic and electrochemistry team working on sulfonated hydrocarbon membranes and ionomer materials, helping us to get the most out of them in fuel cell and electrolyzer application.
